And so it goes…

Well, it’s been a topsy turvy last few weeks for me.

To say that I was surprized and overwhelmed by the response of “Baby on Board” does not quite cover it. There’s a whole bunch of secret baby-ficcers out there just looking for an outlet and BoB sure was popular. In fact, it got more feedback than any of the other (admittedley only three) stories I’ve done. Who’d-a-thought?
So, now I’m down to three stories. To be more accurate, I’ve got one practically complete story (I can hear those snorts from here), one idea for a story with scraps of scenes done and a scene in search of a plot.

In other words…”I got nuthin'”.

And so it goes

And so it goes...I was very saddened to hear news of the death of Kurt Vonnegut. Vonnegut changed the way I look at things. His books were, and still are, among my favorites. Breakfast of Champions is perhaps one of the funniest and saddest and maddest books I’ve ever read. Everyone seems to get something different out of his books. Galapagus, Blue Beard…oh man, I’m so thing.

What is the purpose of life?
To be the eyes,
the ears
and conscience
of the creator of the universe,
you fool.

Breakfast of Champions

Finally on board

I finally finished one of the stories I’ve been working on for the last, gosh it seems like years, few months. It’s called “Baby On Board“. Yes, thanks, I know I suck at titles.

I’m a little ambivalent about this story. Mainly because it has changed so much since I started it, long, long ago. Not to give away spoilers here, I’ve put some comments at the end of the story.

The good (or bad) news is, is that this now gives me no excuse not to finish the other story I’ve been working on, which, I’m sure many will be staggered to know, is stuck.

But the really good news is that Milk Run won third place in the “Personal Best” competition run by JC Eternal. Thanks Aeris & Elorie!!

Still plugging away

I’ve still been busy, but I’m much closer to finishing one story. Haven’t had as much time as I would’ve liked at home to get some stuff done, but there’s just a bit of tidying up to be done and it’s finished. Just a few loose ends.

I always say that.

Things to do…

  1. Get my life under control again
  2. Finish a story in 2007
  3. Spend more time reading stories

Gosh, it’s just been mad for me lately. I don’t seem to have any time to do what I want. Real life is just so very, well, real. And everyone knows how yucky that is. 🙂

I have been working on a couple of stories over the last month or so, and they’re almost complete but they both need several kinks knocked out of them and bits & pieces added. It’s slow work because I don’t have much time nowadays and also one of them is being a bit pesky and not working for me. I also haven’t forgotten “Chummy” and I will fix him up when I can.
