Back to writing?

I’ve been writing on paper but not much on my stupid computer. Which means I now have to transfer my pages and pages of notes. Oh well. I guess it allows me to edit a bit.

I’m nearly finished two stories, although I still haven’t figured out how to end either of them. Details. Schmetails. Hoping to have at least one of them off my hands soon.

Post NaNo oh-oh

As I said in an earlier comment, I “sort of” finished NaNo. I got the required number of words but what I ended up with was a jumble of ideas and unfinished thoughts. It certainly won’t be its own story for quite a while (lots of editing to do).

Of course, what actually happened was that as soon as NaNo was in full swing, I then thought of a suitable ending to one of my unfinished fics, but I was strong…I didn’t succomb to the WIP temptation.

Anyway, I’m hoping for a story before the Christmas madness happens.

Oh no, NaNo…

I’ve got a little bit done. Can’t help thinking I’d have got more done if I could find the notes I wrote on index cards leading up to November – I’ve put them somewhere safe and they’re still there. Safe. Perhaps a weekend brief case review will find them.

But, even without the notes, I’m still, at this early stage, confident of doing 50,000 words. Most of them will be words that will be edited out later, but words nevertheless.

Not ready for NaNoWriMo

Hardly any access to a computer, the one I do have access to has issues (it thinks it’s lost its keyboard) and I have an idea for a plot but no real concept of how it would work. Yep, sounds like NaNo is just around the corner.

I can’t decide how I’ll tackle my plot and I’ve had this really neat idea for an opening & closing line. Which would be great, but I don’t know what those lines actually are. Like the character in Arsenic and Old Lace, I’ve got lots of ideas, I just can’t spell ’em.

The event hasn’t even started yet and I’m already considering counting the words in my outline.

This may not end well.
