The ‘dark one’

Everyone knows that NaNoWriMo is really all about procrastination. I’ve discovered that I’m really good at putting things off to do, well, other things. Like making posts on my blog, for instance.

I should be trying to finish my NaNoWriMo project. It’s not going well. It’s going bad.

Anyway, as I’m experiencing a lull in NaNo-ing, I thought I’d finally publish my dark story, “Fall from Grace“. Special thanks to the extraordinary Elem, who did an amazing job of beta-ing. I’ve made quite a few changes to this story since I got it back from Elem and I just didn’t have the heart to send this monster back to her, so, if there are mistakes, they’re all mine.

NaNoWriMo begins!

Official NaNoWriMo 2007 ParticipantWell, I’ve started. More with a whimper than a bang. After about, oh, four paragraphs, I realized that my story was going to be completely different to the one that I’ve outlined (gee, I’m so glad that I spent time preparing). Oh well, not to worry. With a bit of luck, the new one coming out of my head will work.

Less than two days to go

Until the start of NaNoWriMo. Oh-oh.

I thought I was ready but now I’m not so sure. The outline I’ve made seems a little inadequate for 50,000 words but we shall see. Maybe in the next 48 hours or so, I’ll be struck with the 50K inspiration stick. Let’s hope so, anyway.

I’d hoped to finish “the dark story” before I launch into NaNoWriMo, but now I’m not sure that it’ll be finished. The ending is a bit lame (a large bit), so hopefully, something will occur to me to fix it.

Fingers crossed!

Checkmate? Well that was clever…

Or not. I am now completely convinced that coming up with titles for fics is actually the hardest part of the process.

Anyway, I’ve published my latest story, Checkmate (yeah, I know) and I’m now trying to get rid of the other story to clear the decks for NaNoWriMo. Again, a huge thank you to Elem for doing such a wonderful job of betaing my story. I don’t know what I’d do without her.
