National Novel Writing Month

Almost halfway on word count…

But only just over 10 days to go. Still, I got over 5,000 words done yesterday (wow!) and I’m hopeful of having another couple of bumper days.

Now I’m just putting everything in; no editing, no spelling checks, no trying to find a better word that means “said”. No, it’s just go, go, go. I think I’m just starting to get the hang of the whole concept now.

I am, however, looking forward to the editing phase (after 30th November). Some of the ideas aren’t working and some items need redoing.

Falling a bit behind, but still hopeful

Due to circumstances beyond my control, I lost a few days writing and I’m still trying to catch up.

Having said that, I’m fairly satisfied with my progress and it’s really interesting how the story doesn’t really resemble what I had in my outline all those weeks ago. Those characters sure have minds of their own. Luckily, I can just follow them around with a notebook and jot down what they do.  🙂

Still only have an outline (more or less)

But I’ve got over 6,000 words so far. Most of the stuff I’ve done in the last day or two has been jotted down in little notebooks, rather than thumped into the computer. The hardest thing for me seems to be just transcribing that information, instead of editing and rewriting.

I’ve got to hold off on my fiddling about (which I do tend to do) until after November 30.
